..... when your daughter can read.
Here are a collection of things Reagan has said in the past few months:
#1 "Mommy! That store is called 'Car Toys'! We should go there because Ian would LOVE it!
#2 R: "What do they have at the 'Money Tree' Mom?" Me: "Well, they don't really sell anything... I guess they just give out money". R: "We should go there!"
#3 "That sign just said 'Don't Drink and Drive'. (As I'm picking up my Starbucks cup to take a drink) Mommy! You CAN'T DO THAT! You should put your drink down."
She literally tries to read every sign we pass. So much so that now Ian thinks that all signs say "Road Work Ahead". Maybe that's an indication of how much road construction we go through on a daily basis?!

I love it, the coffee one is my favorite.
That's really cute - she's a good reader!!
That's awesome! What a fun stage to be in!
that's funny. your kids are so adorable! i always read your blog and i CANT believe how old reagan is! and is ian just the biggest mommy boy. you can see absolute adoration in every picture of you two. cute!
I love it. Coley and Reagan would enjoy sitting down together with a few good road signs -- er, books!
What are Reagan's favorite books right now? We're experimenting with Mommy reading chspter books. It works, but it's not the same.
LOTS of road construction....good guess Ian, probably a 50/50 chance!
Ya Reagan! I love that she likes to read:)
Lisa-- Reagan likes to read a lot of the "Step Into Reading" books on her own, as well as most of the books we've always read together. It has been fun to see her independance and excitement since she can now read all of these "old" books on her own.
We've been reading chapter books together too. So far we've done a few no-name books (as in they were silly and I can't remember the name of them...), Freckle Juice, The One in the Middle is the Green Kangaroo, The Mouse and the Motorcycle and The Chocolate Touch. For now, I'm sticking with the old Beverly Cleary ones. I'm finding that most chapter books have content that is too grown up for her right now. What have you and Coley read? I'm always looking for new ideas!
