Girls' Night

I had the best weekend! It was so relaxing. Full of laughter... relaxation... way.too.much good food...the worst mojito I've ever had.... and some wonderful memories!

How, you ask?? Because the kids stayed home with Daddy, and I went away with 3 of my girlfriends. We have been friends since high school and I treasure each of them so much. (You can see two of them by clicking HERE and HERE... the third is still working on her blog!)

We started our night away off with a quick drive north... had a delicious lunch, checked into our hotel, had a memorable experience at N0rdstrom and then headed to the spa.

I had the best deep-tissue massage ever. The therapist was itty-bitty and absolutely beat me up! I was even sore (the good kind) the next day.

After the spa, we moved onto dinner. We discovered a new restaurant that we all enjoyed-- the food was delicious, dessert was even better, and the atmosphere was great too!

The evening ended with the worst mojito ever (but... it was funny!) and then we all played cards until we couldn't sit up straight anymore. Next came story time from one of the funniest books I've heard yet. We all were laughing pretty darn hard.

All in all... it was a wonderful night away. I came home on Sunday feeling completely refreshed.

Thanks girls!! Same time, same place next weekend???

What is wrong with this picture?

Hmmmm.... Let's see..... Maybe the SNOW on my freshly planted flowers? We live in the greater Seattle area and can't manage to get snow in the dead of winter. It's March 26th and it snows? C'mon! It's SPRING, people!

Poor blog...

My poor neglected blog. So sorry I've been avoiding you. I haven't had the free time to write anything meaningful, or take any good pictures and therefore here you sit.
Sorry to the handful of readers of this blog that you've had to read the same post for 20 days now. How boring!

So... here are some pictures. Just to satisfy those of you who are bugging me about my lack of posting.

Here is Ian learning the difficult lesson of "coloring ONLY on the paper". He's finally getting it.

A cheesy self portrait attempt from Mommy and Reagan

An attempt at a picture of Grandma (Lindsey's Mom) with all of her grandkids... this is the best one!

Hi, my name is Ian and I love golfing so much that I drag my Daddy out to the garage to practice, early in the morning, before we change out of our pajamas.

This is serious people. The kid can swing!

Reagan LOVES to cut paper into tiny little triangles. Here she is showing off one of her smallest triangles yet!

And here's Reagan painting a wooden airplane kit Grandma and Grandpa gave her. She painted every piece and Daddy glued it together for her. She did an impressive job for a 3 year old!

Besides playing golf (or any sport that involves a ball), Ian loves to play with cars. The other day we noticed him very carefully lining up his cars... they were in a perfect little row. He does not get this from me.... or Daddy either. Maybe from his Aunt Lish?

Boys, Boys, Boys...

I'm learning all kinds of things about my little boy these days. Besides the frequency of bruising, that is.

Today we went for a family walk/bike ride after church. It was a gorgeous day here in the not-so-rainy Pacific Northwest. (I have some fun pictures of our walk/bike ride, but blogger is not cooperating at the moment.... I'll try again later.)

Anyhow... back to our afternoon outside.

Reagan rode her bike the entire time.

Ian, on the other hand, was a different story. He would get on his "bike" (I use the term loosely...), ride a few feet and then see a rock, stick, pine cone or other piece of nature that MUST BE PICKED UP RIGHT NOW.

If it was a stick, it was immediately transformed into either a golf club or baseball bat. He would take a swing and then throw it into the woods. We took a break at one point to toss pebbles into a little pond and after that it took FOREVER to finish the walk because every single rock we came upon had to be thrown into the nearest pond/puddle/any form of water Ian could find.

Then there were the dogs. It was a busy day on the walking trail, and therefore we encountered a ton of dogs. If Ian happened to be on his bike when a dog would pass, he had to get off and investigate. If I let him, he would have run up to any dog, no matter the size, and put his face right in front of the dogs face. (we have an amazing cat that lets the kids get as close as they want and therefore Ian thinks that all animals are like that). He met many dogs today. (One couple passed us walking 4 dogs, 2 of which really looked like hairless rats.)

Anyhow... it was a day of learning for this Mommy... I look forward to many more days like it.

But please Ian... please keep the bruises to a minimum. Thanks dude.
